  2. Missionaries of Charity (M.C)
The Congregation of Missionaries of Charity Brothers was founded by the Blessed Mother Teresa of Kolkata on 25th March 1963 in West Bengal. His Holiness Pope John Paul II raised this congregation as a Pontificial Congregation on 12.06.2003.

They see their aim as seeking to quench the thirst of Jesus : His thirst for the salvation of souls and His thirst within each person for the fullness of life and love. At the heart of their charism is the gift of serving, loving and serving Jesus in the distressing disguise of the poorest of the poor.

They are 376 brothers spread in 21 countries in 69 communities in the service of Jesus in the poorest of the poor. A deeprooted prayer life is the source of their strength to carry out this mission of love to the poor and needy.

In 1985, the Missionary brothers made their entrance to the Diocese of Balasore. They settled themselves in a rented house at Baripada and gradually moved to their permanent house at Raghunathpur in 1989.
